Big Brothers Big Sisters of Warren County (BBBSWC) is a non-profit organization located in Washington, NJ.

Our mission is to match children in the community with an adult mentor who’s time and interest can impact their social, academic and family life. We believe that the relationship between a Big & a Little makes an impact on who they are and who they can become. We believe the impact of this friendship goes both ways.

We match “Littles”, kids in the community, with “Bigs” who become their cheerleaders, confidantes, mentors and, most importantly, their friends. The Littles and Bigs get together a few times a month and do fun, everyday activities. They play games, do crafts, talk and just hang out.

We offer several programs to meet the needs of our volunteers and Littles. The Community-Based program entails an adult Big and a little doing everyday, life activities within the community. This can be anything from planning a menu and grocery shopping, to time in the park or washing the car together.

Part of our Community-Based Program, Family Bigs involves a family’s being matched to a little. Together they enjoy activities within the community, which can involve everyday, life activities. This allows the volunteer to participate in the program in a way that includes their whole family & doesn’t detract from time spent with their family.

In our School-Based program, adult Bigs and their Little take part in activities in a pre-schedules, supervised school setting. In the course of one lunch period a week, these Littles and Bigs grow an amazing friendship.

Our High School Bigs program brings high school Bigs and Middle School Littles together after school once a week to enjoy crafts, games, and benefits of having a mentor close in age and life experience.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Warren County is based on the belief that EVERYONE can benefit from having someone older or more experienced show concern & interest in them.

You don’t have to change your life to change theirs and it doesn’t take any special skills to show someone that you care.
